Bridgen Academy School
Mavis fashioned this on the school she attended as a young girl.
The school was built in 1866. She later went back as Head Mistress
and was in charge when it finally closed its doors after 108 years
in April 1974.
In her last week of teaching in 1984 Mavis and her class re-enacted
a Victorian school day, dressed in authentic costumes from the
1870s; which would probably have looked something like this.
